The Quality Manager position provides overall leadership for the Quality Assurance team in the development of manufacturing processes and alignment of quality requirements to successfully launch new customer parts. Additional responsibilities include ensuring that the Quality Assurance Team continues the support of the production processes for subsequent production lots.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Quality Assurance Team to ensure that quality requirements of the designated manufacturing processes are accurately identified per customer requirements, and inspection methods are logical and documented to ensure the execution by the production staff is consistent and achievable to consistently meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Collaborate with the Sales Engineering Team to ensure that customer requirements are completely understood and are considered in estimates and processes.
- Effectively communicate customer requirements within both teams for new customers as well as changes within existing customers.
- Champion Client’s Quality Management System including activities associated with Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance Lab, ISO-9001 certification, customer audit processes, and other requirements as they arise.
- Ensure customer complaints and rejects along with corresponding corrective actions are addressed thoroughly and accurately to support the Customer Passion core value.
- Actively participate in the NORP (New Order Resource Planning process).
- Advise and direct the incorporation of lean concepts in all process development.
- Manage large process improvement projects as necessary.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support organizational strategy, improvement, and growth.
- Coach and mentor associates to continue growth to support personal and organizational growth, as well as core values.
- Perform associate reviews at the designated intervals.
- Ensure the monthly/ quarterly/ annual Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
- Supervisory experience and experience in a quality leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication or plastic, preferred.
- Expereince with ISO, Audits, and Compliance.
- Preferred certifications include ASQ Quality Engineer, ASQ Quality Manager, or ASQ Quality Technician.
- Intermediate/expert working knowledge of Microsoft Word, advanced working knowledge of Excel, and at a minimum intermediate-level working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
- Expereince with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Expereince with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Foundational level knowledge in the application of Operational Excellence Principals- (Lean-Six Sigma).
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external contacts.
- Mental and visual attention with concentration on detail.
Salary Range
$90K-$115K
